Just go for a walk

Since getting Eric - our mini schnauzer - I've really enjoyed leaving my desk, the emails, the phone calls and striding out into the beautiful Sussex countryside. I know it's not rocket science but it's amazing what a small walk can do to clear the mind. We are lucky enough to have all of this on our doorstep. I took these pictures yesterday and it was beautifully frosty. The pond was frozen and there wasn't a soul about - just me, Eric and the sheep.

A very She & Him Christmas

This is definitely going to be my favourite Christmas album this year - 12 festive classics including Silver Bells & Baby It's Cold Outside. As the title suggests it is by She & Him - a duo that I have just discovered. They are producing the album on red vinyl which is kind of funky plus they have a range of knitwear you can buy to promote it.
This may be the year that I don't have to listen to Doris Day on repeat!

Our new 'little thing'

Meet Eric - this eight-week-old mini schnauzer is the new addition to our family and the reason why I haven't got anything done for the last three days. Isn't he gorgeous?

A rummage at Kempton Park

In the first week of the school holidays we all bundled into the car at 5.30am to travel around the M25 to the infamous Sunbury Antiques Market at Kempton Park. It was everything you could wish for if you're an antique and curiosity scavenger. Unfortunately, I don't think you would pick up a bargain but it was a little slice of heaven. The next one is on 27th September – get there early!

What a long time since my last post. I have a few things I want to write about but just haven't had the time because of the school holidays so they will have to come later. Business and family are just getting in the way but only in a good way.  First I want to share some photos of our holiday in Italy. We travelled around from Milan to Florence and Rome and then ended up at the lakes - such a fantastic holiday. We stayed at Lake Lugano on the Swiss border in this gorgeous hotel (if you want a romantic weekend away then I can't recommend this place enough). As you can see it is right on the lake, it was very peaceful (away from the tourists on Como), you could swim from the pontoon, and to top it all, they served the most beautiful food.
I hope I can go back one day.
